Kidney stones are painful. If you’ve never had to deal with them, ask anyone who has. Many describe it as “the worst pain I’ve ever had,” including women who have birthed a few kids. The simplistic version of how they are caused is this: Urine contains salts. The salts go through the kidneys to be eliminated from the body. If the concentration of salts is too high either because of too much of these different salts or because of a lack of liquid (water) flushing the system, the salts form crystals = kidney stones. Some are small and pass out into the ureters and into the bladder to be normally eliminated without us being aware. However, when the size of the crystals becomes too large for this to happen, the stone can block the flow of urine out of the kidney. This is where the pain and problems come into play. (For more in-depth information please see: Mayo Clinic).
Although you should always seek medical assistance, here’s a recommendation for a natural solution in the treatment of kidney stones:
- 1 cup of fractionated coconut oil
- 8 drops lemon oil
- 8 drops eucalyptus oil
- 2 drops wintergreen oil
- Use glass or metal containers and stirring instruments. Mix by gentle stirring.
Fill two vials with roller tops (well-washed and steam disinfected) with the oil mixture to carry with you. You can apply this as needed to the front and back of your body at the bottom three to four inches of the rib cage, where the kidneys are located — the location of the pain in your abdominal area. The rest is split among 30 ml. amber bottles (well washed and steam disinfected) for use at home. Label all bottles with contents and date made. Apply several drops (about 4) three times daily using a warm compress to the kidney area both front and back, both left and right sides. This will not just help to treat the cause but also help reduce the pain. Be sure you are ingesting enough water each day. Recommendations that define the word “enough” vary. Please consult your medical practitioner.
