Quick, down, and cleansing!

The end-of-the-year series of holidays is always busy and can be hectic.  Cutting down on the steps necessary to prepare our homes for company and ourselves is always a help, so here’s an oil blend that serves more than one purpose: 

1. Cleans and disinfects surfaces
2. Refreshes stale air
3. Sanitizes hands
4. Sets the mood

Prepare ahead:  Make the full-strength blend

Mix together in a 5 ml. amber or blue, clean and sterilized, drop-top bottle

• Black spruce – 17 drops
• Siberian Fir – 17 drops
• Cypress – 11 drops
• Frankincense – 28 drops
• Clove – 11 drops
• Juniper Berry – 11 drops

Or in a 15 ml. amber or blue, clean and sterilized, drop-top bottle

• Black spruce – 50 drops
• Siberian Fir – 50 drops
• Cypress 33 – drops
• Frankincense 84 – drops
• Clove 33 – drops
• Juniper Berry 33 – drops

Shake well.

For house cleaning and as an air freshener and sanitizer:

• Put 10 oz. filtered water in a 16 oz. amber or blue glass spray bottle
• Add 5 oz. rubbing alcohol
• Add 20 drops of the essential oil blend
• Shake well – and shake again before each use
• Spray on cloth for dusting
• Spray on surfaces for kitchen and bathroom cleaning
• Spray on hands and rub together as a hand sanitizer
• Spray lightly in the air around the house

Diffuse: Put 7 to 9 drops in a cool mist diffuser with filtered water per the diffuser’s instructions

Can also be used as a hand sanitizer away from home by using a drop or two neat in the palms of hands and rub together.
