Bob’s Super Moisturizer

by BB Curtis

We usually spend more time during the summer season outside in the sun and wind, sometimes in salt water or chlorinated water, all of which are rough on the skin.  Since the hours of sunlight are longer in the summer, it’s just that much more time we abuse our skin.  Here’s a great moisturizer to help counteract the effects of the summer weather.  (It’s great in the wintertime, too.)

  • 2 oz. cocoa butter cream
  • 1 oz. vitamin E cream
  • If past 55, if skin is extra dry, or if you prefer, you can replace these two creams with 3 oz. hyaluronic acid cream.
  • 10 drops sandalwood oil
  • 6 drops myrrh oil
  • 5 drops patchouli oil
  • 5 drops geranium oil
  • 5 drops lemongrass oil

In a sterilized amber or dark blue 4 oz. jar, place the cocoa butter cream and vitamin E cream.  Blend together with a small sterilized metal spoon or spatula.  Create an indentation in the center of the creams to drop in the oils.  Place all the oils listed into the indentation and carefully stir with the metal spoon/spatula for about 5 minutes to be sure that all oils are distributed evenly throughout the cream blend.  Put the lid on the jar and twist shut.  Be sure to label the mixture stating what is in the jar along with the date it was made.

After cleansing and toning the face and neck with your preferred products, in upward motions, apply just enough Bob’s Super Moisturizer to evenly disperse over the entire face and neck, avoiding getting it into the eyes.  This should be done in the morning and again before going to sleep at night.

If you have a known allergy to any of the oils listed, please contact me at bobbicurtiseo@outlook.com to discuss substitute oil(s).
