Here’s the video with the polling numbers and public opinion details. Please watch this first and then read below.
Here’s the biggest problem that I can see that happens repeatedly in politics, among other things. Boebert’s constituents weren’t entirely happy with her first term performance, but they voted for her again and gave her another chance ( how cute!), thinking that she’d become more professional and drop the crazy. That is NEVER going to happen, and here’s why. The voters just rewarded her for her ridiculous behavior. What’s her interpretation of winning her second bid for office? THIS: See! The voters love me and appreciate what I’ve been doing. They just gave me another term in office they were so pleased. I need to step it up a notch or two.
You see, rewarding behaviors causes the behaviors to increase. It’ll never cause them to decrease! It’s like watching your dog pee on your new sofa and going to him, patting him on the head, giving him lovies, and telling him he’s a good boy. You may never get him to stop peeing on the couch.
You may also take the lessons of plant pruning to understand good growth. If there are dying leaves or branches on a plant but the rest of the plant is in good shape, pruning (removing the dead and dying) will allow the plant to come back healthier and stronger because it’s not trying to support the sick parts any longer. This is essential in all areas of human endeavor. It is necessary to get rid of the toxic parts, just as it is in human healing where you need to get rid of the toxins for the body to return to a healthy state. Making sure that a toxic candidate doesn’t win another election allows the government to work for the people, which is the job of government.
These rules of behavior are universal and should be applied regularly to make our government thrive and grow which in turn makes it so our people and country can thrive and grow.
The real way to get good behavior from your elected officials is to support them and vote for them when they are doing what we need to have a strong country. That means that they are enacting legislation that is Constitutional, that is within civil rights and legal guidelines, that promotes equality among all people, and that improves the lives of the citizens — all of them. Also that they are looking out for the good of the country by taking action against people and entities that would take illegal advantage of the citizens. To do this right, you, the voting public, need to follow what your representatives at all levels of government are doing for your benefit, not theirs.
